Pablo Sitjar Pizzorno

Pablo Sitjar is a Partner in Thales and is based in Montevideo. He has more than 25-years’ experience in capital markets and corporate finance.

Pablo is currently CEO and co-founder of The Southern Cone Group, a regional boutique asset management firm based in Montevideo. Prior to Thales, in 2001 Pablo co-founded Renmax Corredor de Bolsa, a brokerage house in Montevideo. During that period, Pablo served as President of the Montevideo Stock Exchange from 2013 to 2016. Prior to Renmax, Pablo was a Deputy General Manager at Banco Surinvest in Montevideo, and Trader in the Emerging Markets Fixed Income Group at Goldman Sachs in New York. In addition, he served as Advisor to the Central Bank of Uruguay.

Pablo holds a MSc. in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management (Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA) which included one semester at the London Business School. Pablo holds a Certified Public Accountant degree from Universidad de la República (Montevideo, Uruguay). He teaches Finance at the Universidad de Montevideo and Universidad de la República, and Defense Economics at the Uruguayan Navy War School.

 

Amedeo Carassai

Amedeo Carassai is a Partner in Thales, based in London and Milan. He has more than 25-years’ experience in private equity, venture capital, corporate finance and strategic consulting.

Prior to Thales, Amedeo was for 10 years a Partner at Apax Partners, one of the largest global Private Equity funds, where he co-founded its Milan office and subsequently co-headed its European Retail & Consumers sector in London. Prior to Apax, Amedeo was a Partner and Head of the European Wireless Telecoms Practice at McKinsey & Company, the leading global Management Consultant, and Chief Investment Officer at Syntek Capital, a leading European Venture Capital holding.

Amedeo holds a MSc. in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rome.

 

Diego Sansonetti

Diego Sansonetti works as a Senior Financial Analyst at Thales. He has experience in business development, asset management, private equity, and wealth advisory.

Diego is currently a Financial Analyst at The Southern Cone Group, where he has been involved in the structuring and management of several investment projects in sectors such as real estate, agribusiness, healthcare, and technology. He also works as a Financial Advisor at Renmax Corredor de Bolsa, based in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Diego holds a MBA degree from IAE Business School (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and has graduated in Business Administration from the Universidad ORT Uruguay. He passed the CFA Exam Level II and completed an International Exchange Program at The University of Manchester (UK). Also, he is involved with the Universidad ORT at the Centro de Innovación y Emprendimientos (CIE), where he participates in the Assessment Committee and has coached a Fintech startup focused on peer to peer lending.
